From the Principal
This was a big week for Russell school our neighbouring schools and our Castor loop community. We put our HEART and soul into objecting to the application for a new liquor license for the old liquor shop across the road. We have all noticed how peaceful it has been since the shop has been shut; there has been no broken bottles or damage to the school and our neighbours report the same; we gave it our best shot in court to keep it that way! The Authority will send a letter within a month to all objectors with the outcome. A big thank you to all of the supporters who organised our ‘stand’ especially our lawyer Alastair Sheriff from Biddle and Biddle who represented us for free and Matt Crawshaw who rallied the community behind the school.
