Shake, Shake, Shake! The Day The Earth Moved!!

As you will all be aware earthquakes are becoming more common. Last Friday at 2.30 most of the school were busy in their Rooms or for Room 7 in the hall; not Rooms 2 and 3 they were down at Calliope Park trying out the new playground they were running around and playing so much that they didn’t feel the earthquake! When we have an earthquake no matter where we are, inside or out, the children follow the school procedures of stop, drop, hold and then once the shaking has stopped and it is safe to move, the children and staff gather outside the staffroom block. If you are concerned about your child you can come to the front office and talk to me. The Ministry of Education website has some good tips for parents if you would like information on how to support your child.
