Maori Language Week—Introducing ‘Ngā Kupu o te Wiki’
(Maori words of the week)
This Friday 25 July 11.15 in the school hall

Tena koutou katoa (Greetings to you all),

This week is national Maori language week. We will be having a special assembly this Friday July 25 July at 11.15 celebrating Maori language, introducing ‘Te Kupu o te wiki’ (Maori word of the week). Join us as we teach and learn new Maori words and phrases each week.

This week’s kupu (word) is: āpōpō —tomorrow. Try using this phrase ‘Ka kite āpōpō - see you tomorrow.

After the special assembly children and families are invited to share some Maori food (kai) in the school hall.

Children will still need to bring lunch as the food will be a sample only - not enough to replace lunch.
